As mother of a boy, I have always felt the duty to raise him as a respectful and sensitive man. These are values I really care about.

I care a lot about his future and the way he will have to deal with the world, with people, and with women.

We hear every day how much femicides take place all over the world, and unfortunately most of these happen inside the home. The causes are multiple, but at the base we see men unable to react to a loss, and to assimilate certain emotions. So it may be useful to educate today’s children to be the sensitive men of tomorrow.

But is it really as simple as it sounds?

Society as defined by our predecessors has set the rules for us. And till now they didn’t made much steps forward.

Boys must be courageous, strong, virile, they must not cry «like little girls».

Girls, on the other hand, must be polite, kind, always nice.

The sensitive man is denigrated, and the woman who does not dress fancy or who behaves differently respect to the canons of society is defined as not very feminine. «A bitch» some might say.

What if this distinction no longer suits us?
